Well this is interesring! Sales have slowed down alot for me, have they slowed for anyone else? I think it just the time of year. At least now I will be able to restock my inventory! Later...
Sales have slowed everywhere. I have heard through other forumss, even the big names are having trouble.
One thing I would like addressed is the lack of feedback left for sellers. I always leave feedback for my cutomers. I think its important for sellers to recieve feedback in return. One comment I got from a customer was they could not find where to leave the feedback. I myself had trouble finding the link.
May I suggest that a link to leave feedback for a seller appear beside the item they bought in their Account?
Or send all the register buyers an email telling them exactly where to find the link. I think the first suggestion would be easier, but what do I know about web site building...LOL
Have a good day everyone!
Hello...I agree with the last writer...feedback is vital, for all but especialy new sellers & buyers...I check out the feed back from anyone whom I would like to purchase from...I suppose unless someone has been a seller they don't understand the importance of feedback...a feedback link next to the item purchased is also a great idea!!
This is one of my favourite sites, great sellers, great communication with the site owners. Always a pleasure dealing with JustBeads!!! Have a great day!!
Hi all, I have also experienced a tremendous slow down in sales. Makes me feel bad. One thing that I did note today is that the listings in "Lampwork Beads" is also way down. Everyone on vacation?
I'v had pretty good luck in the feedback department, perhaps a general reminder is in order.
One time I made a sugestion in the chat forum that a link be added or an easier way of where and how to leave feedback be posted for new people and was told that it is posted on the home page. I still think it should be made more noticable somehow though. I've made a lot more sales than what my feedback shows!
Bob:
This is a great idea. Thanks!
I can't believe I only just noticed it though.
It seems "sales" would be a hot topic. Maybe JB members could give each other ideas about how to increase sales etc.
A category for technical issues would be good too, but I'd love to see a category just about beads. Like bead education. Over the years I've learned some really interesting stuff about beads and their history. We all love beads and I think this would help us remember why.
More later...
ways to increase sales is a great tutorial that should be somewhere. also a place to list what kind of beads specifically buyers are looking for at just beads in different categories - like antique, lampwork, etc.
1. We've heard you loud and clear and we have our programmers working on some ways that we believe will help increase the use of the "Feedback" feature by making it much easier to access.
2. Summer doesn't necessarily bring about a slow down in sales. Some of it stems from a slow down in the number of listings or an increase in "re-lists" as opposed to "new" items due to all of the "demands" of summer.
3. A tutorial on "How to increase Sales"? Sounds like a great idea especially given #2 above. We'll have to look into that.....Thank you!
Sales will always slow down in the summer and pick up closer to the holidays..so relax stock up and plan your next move...
About the lack of feedback. It would be great if the number of sales a seller had were available on the feed back page. If sales are high and feedback are few it would imply to me as a customer that no news it good news.
Hi Bead Lovers,
Over the past 40 years I have amassed a huge bead collection. My wife, and I lived in RVs, and traveled 1,000s of miles. During that time I invested 1,000s of dollars in TRADE BEADS, ANTIQUE VENETIAN BEADS, VINTAGE GLASS BEADS, GEMSTONE BEADS, HUBBELL BEADS, AND D'ze BEADS.
My bead collection consists of 100s of necklaces, and 1000s of beads. I have retired, and my wife and I have moved into a small trailer. I am selling my entire collection for several reasons; I don't have room to store it, I am getting old, I'll be 80 on my next birthday, I have no one to leave it to, and last, but most important, I need the money, I live on Social Security.
I would like to be able to donate my collection to a museum, or bead club, but I just can't afford to do that.
I haven't increased my prices for the past 20 years, so I'm offering my beads at a bargin.
I am knowledgable concernng TRADE BEADS, and am considered to be an expert on ANTIQUE VENETIAN BEADS. I have compiled a paper intitled "THE DEFINITION OF BEAD TERMS" which lists the different types of ANTIQUE VENETIAN BEADS, and explains the manufacturing methods.
I saved one bead from every ANTIQUE VENETIAN NECKLACE that passed through my hands for the past 40 years, and assembled them in to a collection. They are listed, and identified according to type.
Anyone interested can view the necklaces, and beads that I'm offering for sale by visiting my auctions on Ebay, and my Ebay store. I SELL UNDER THE NAME; "theholething"
As I have time, I will be listing my necklaces, and beads on Justbeads.
I will mail "THE DEFINITION OF BEAD TERMS" free, to any one emailing me their request.
In adition I will email an invitation to visit a site where you can see photographs of different types of ANTIQUE VENETIAN BEADS, with their current retail prices.
This is a rare opportunity to buy a collection of rare, and unusual beads.
You will find that my prices are very reasonable.
ALL SALES ARE ON A UNCONDITIONAL, MONEY BACK GURANTEE!
Best personal regards,
Keith C. Shaffer (theholethign)
i think thats great thanks for the info
